PanOpt is an extension of the webcam development for the IDEAS project. The IDEAS principal investigators are Dr. Dar Roberts and Dr. Christopher Still and the project was funded by the National Science Foundation Course, Curriculum, and Laboratory Improvement program, NSF DUE-0632917, and the Office of Instructional Consultation at the University of California at Santa Barbara (UCSB).
This project is only made possible with the significant contributions of the Santa Barbara Amateur Radio Club, which operates the SCI Diablo Peak Camera and installed the WiFi system that relays the images to the mainland over two 26 and 32 mile links.
The PanOpt website development was funded in part by a Federation of Earth Science Information Partners (ESIP) Student Grant.
